The incarnation of Credo. Architect Charles Cameron in Pavlovsk. To the 275th anniversary of his birth
On September 30, an exhibition dedicated to the 275th anniversary of the birth of Charles Cameron, the main creator of the Pavlovsk Palace and Park Ensemble, opens in the Rossi Library of the Pavlovsk Palace.
Charles Cameron (1745/46 – 1812), an outstanding architect, one of the founders of neoclassicism in Russia, an expert and researcher of ancient architecture, is rightfully considered one of the most exquisite masters of the XVIII century. «The incarnation of Credo. Architect Charles Cameron in Pavlovsk» is the first exhibition in Russia dedicated to the work of Charles Cameron. The public will be presented with a unique collection of the architect's projects illustrating the process of creating the palace, the park and the park pavilions in Pavlovsk.
The exhibition contains works by the architect and his assistants, views and unique plans of early Pavlovsk from the funds of the Pavlovsk Museum-Reserve, the State Hermitage Museum, the State Russian Museum and the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg.
